Store Fixture / Millwork Manufacturing seeking Engineer for Wood and Metal manufacturing shop drawings.  Must be able to multitask and to work independently and efficiently.

Position requirements are:

• Knowledge of various cabinet construction and building techniques in store fixture industry & panel processing for at least 3-5 years or more.
• Extremely knowledgeable in Autodesk AutoCAD and /or Inventor
• Hands on bench/shop floor experience that is applied to engineering practices is a plus.
• Well versed in all types of engineered wood panels, high pressure laminate and edge banding industry standards.
• Knowledge of all types of general industry hardware (European hinges, drawer slides, KD systems, etc.)
• General knowledge of wood optimization software (Cut Rite or equivalent).
• General knowledge of store fixture industry metal details, metal gauges and metal construction techniques.
• Experience in working in full metric environment.

• Knowledge of engineering with 32mm system standard principles for processing panels.
• Must be able to take design ideas and layouts and develop complete package of documents which includes the following:
• Customer Shop Drawings
• Production environment assembly drawings & details
• Drawings for special or custom buyouts or components (metal, glass, electric components, etc.)
• Bill of materials (BOM) / Product details
• Plate drawings for each itemized part that requires machining

Experience with Woodwop, Microvellum, AutoCAD
Design/ Engineering experience in these specific industries is a must.

Requirement:
-Degree a plus but not mandatory.

Excellent Wood Products Manufacturer is seeking a Product Engineer for their Southern U.S. location. They will report to the Engineering Manager of this small but growing Engineering group.

Design, Setting up parts on PC and Bill of Material, Routing, etc.
Someone who also knows a little about Cost.

-Degree nice, but not required.
-Should be an Excellent Draftsman.
-Previous experience as a Product/Drafting/ Design Engineer for a Wood Products Manufacturer a must.
AutoCAD or AutoCAD/LT
Solidworks a big plus.
-3D Modeling
-Experience with MAX a plus
-Experience with kiln dried hardwood lumber, wood veneers, composite wood panel materials and all other necessary components a must.

Basic Function/Job Overview:

This position is responsible for developing and modifying machine and product engineering drawings, layouts, sketches and diagrams for customized millwork product manufacturing and installation. This position is also responsible for discussing design concepts and requirements with Sales, Manufacturing and Project Managers, and modifying or refining designs to conform to client specifications, production limitations, functionality, cost effectiveness or changes in design trends. This position researches production specifications and alternative product materials, and itemizes production requirements. This position monitors output during millwork manufacturing for compliance with specifications, quality standards, safety and aesthetics. Proficiency in the use of drafting instruments and computer-aided design software, strong knowledge of millwork and/ or casework construction and production principles, techniques and materials, strong interpersonal, research and problem solving skills, and self-management, are required.
