Job Description
• Champion Production System strategy and provide hands-on support and any necessary training during implementation
• Lead effort to implement best practices across plants and/or divisions, ensuring adherence to the principles of lean manufacturing
• Assist and mentor plant management and CI team with planning and facilitation of strategic plans, kaizen workshops and other lean activities
• Coach and train plant leaders in lean manufacturing and problem-solving principles
• Follow up with operations ensuring successful implementation of Future State plans
Qualifications:
• Bachelor’s degree in Business, Operations Management, Industrial Engineering or other comparable engineering degree, or related, or equivalent experience
• Preferred: minimum of 5 years experience in various Wood Products manufacturing/operations roles
• 2-3 years of successful experience with lean manufacturing
• Exceptional leadership, interpersonal, and communication skills (both verbal and written)
• Highly developed problem solving and project management skills
• Consultative skills
• Ability to deliver training to large groups – experience preferred
• Experience with change management principles and demonstrated ability to drive and manage the change process
• Demonstrated facilitation and coaching skills
• Familiar with diverse manufacturing processes
• Demonstrated capability to learn product lines and manufacturing processes
• Proven ability to work in a team environment
• Demonstrated ability to use information technology (internet, Microsoft Suite)
• Negotiation and selling skills to support change management
• Proven ability to handle multiple tasks
• Demonstrated conflict management skills
• Ability to setup, track and document results as required
