Drafter/Project Engineer/Manager

Job Description:
Purpose and Scope:
• Responsible for generating production sheets, component part drawings, saw cut patterns, tooling requirements and CNC programs to the shop.
• Responsible for providing clear communications to customers in support of quotations and program management.
• Responsible for providing necessary documentation to the production floor.
Responsibilities (listed from most to least important):
• Production Documents:
o Provides existing or develops new Production Sheets.
o Generates component part drawings using AutoCAD where customer supplied drawings are not sufficient.
o Insures the shop has or has ordered all necessary tooling.
• Quotations:
o Reviews customer information for completeness. Acquires any needed information from the customer.
o Determines material usage and acquires costs.
o Develops the proposed manufacturing process including labor and machine requirements and yields.
• Customer Care:
o Communicates verbally with customers in a prompt, clear and professional manner at all times.
o Provides prompt, clear and professional written documents including quotations and written email or letters.
o Works closely with customers to solve problems.
o Works closely with customers to reach agreement on mutually achievable delivery requirements.
Organizational Relationships:
• Reports to both the Operations Manager.
Job Requirements:
Education and Training:
• A degree is a plus, but not mandatory
Technical and Other Requirements:
• Good math skills including geometry and trigonometry
• Blueprint reading
• Computer Aided Design (CAD); AutoCAD
• Trained to use hand measuring tools including calipers and micrometers
• Attention to detail
• Ability to lift fifty pounds with routine
• Good written and oral communication skills
• A demonstrated team player with problem solving skills
Experience:
• Two years minimum in a similar environment
