Job Description
Manufacturing Engineer
Salary range $60k – $70k
Southeast
Reports To: Engineering Manager
Provide technical support related to machine and process capability and reliability, and develop manufacturing processes for new products, product modifications, and cost reduction initiatives. Responsibilities will include process modification and improvements as well as workstation/equipment installations.
• Develop and own process and equipment documentation such as standard operating sheets, visual aids, machine capability and machine instructions.
• Provide daily technical and process improvement support as well as manage projects to assigned production area under the direction of the Engineering Manager.
• Plan and execute equipment and process modifications to improve safety, improve quality, reduce downtime, and reduce cycle time.
• Support process improvements through participation in kaizen events.
• Design fixtures, workstations, and gauges as needed.
. Assist in specification, procurement, and installation of new equipment and workstations.
Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical, Industrial, or related engineering field
At least 1 – 2 years of experience as a manufacturing engineer.
Understanding of basic Lean manufacturing principles such as 5S, value added work and one piece flow.
Effective facilitation and communication abilities.
Proven ability to develop and train on process documentation such as Standard Operating Sheets and Machine Instructions.
Strong mechanical background – proven ability to specify equipment and determine the root cause of machine/process failure.
Proficient with MS Office software.
Must be an experienced AutoCAD and/or Inventor user.
Desirable:
Experience in a manufacturing environment
New product introduction experience.
Six Sigma training/experience.
Proven ability to coach and develop the skills and abilities of others.
